ABOUT ME
From a young age, sport was always my passion. I started with little athletics and moved on to playing soccer and football. I then found the sport which I truly love which is boxing!
I remember being a young boy watching Muhammad Ali boxing on the TV and Bruce Lee movies and I was hooked. The rest is history!
I started competing in boxing at a later age with my first amateur bout when I was 23 with South Sydney Junior Australia. I was married at the time with a young family and also had my own pizza restaurant "Belmonte's Pizza"...(that's another story!).
My trainers were Wally Townsend and Lex Ashton and after about 25 fights with boxers such as Rick Timpiri (twice Olympian), Gary Large and David Tua, I then progressed to representing Australia at the Commonwealth Trials on 28 July 1989 in Timaru New Zealand. This fight was against the very experienced David Tua in the light heavyweight division. It was a tough fight which I lost on points on a split decision.
I stopped competing to focus on my family and business but I never stopped training as it brings me so much energy, relieves stress and tension and keeps me fit and healthy and my life balanced.
With 45 years of boxing experience and 8 years of professional coaching, I have been training others and helping them achieve their goals. I have also completed my certification as a Level 1 Coach with Boxing Australia.
I am now a full-time trainer sharing my passion for fitness and boxing, my expertise in training and my love of helping people. I'm blessed by the great feedback I'm receiving from my clients and the dynamic and fun environment I create supports their commitment.
